Sleep, for Women

Why We Focus on Women’s Sleep

At Nite-Nite, we centre women not by accident, but by understanding. Sleep isn’t experienced the same way by everyone and when women sleep well, the ripple effect touches everything around them: families, work, relationships, and wellbeing at large.

Research in female physiology, including work by Dr. Stacy Sims, highlights that women's bodies move through more dynamic hormonal patterns than men's. These natural shifts can influence sleep quality, recovery, and energy in subtle but meaningful ways.

Across the menstrual cycle, changes in estrogen and progesterone may affect how easily sleep comes, how deeply it’s sustained, and how restored you feel the next day. There are moments when the body simply asks for more care, more recovery, or a different kind of rest.

There’s also the reality of everyday life. Many women carry a quiet, constant mental load holding space for work, relationships, and everything in between. It’s not just physical fatigue, but cognitive and emotional, too.

So it’s not always about needing more sleep. It’s about needing sleep that truly restores for women.
